Access MFTs Bills Moving in State Sessions

By Advocacy

As state legislative sessions start to pick up momentum, we are beginning to see exciting movement with Access MFTs and licensure portability bills. Here are some of our most recent updates:

  • In Kentucky, HB79, sponsored by Rep. Kim Moser, passed the House floor unanimously 94-0. The bill also advanced out of the Senate Committee on Licensing and Occupations and is anticipated for a full Senate vote soon.
  • In Connecticut, HB7081 passed out of the House Public Health Committee. The bill will now be sent to the Office of Legislative Research and the Office of Fiscal Analysis for an in-depth review and assigned a file report before it can be heard on the House floor for a full vote.
  • In West Virginia, AAMFT and Access MFTs are supporting HB2001. This bill, introduced as part of the Governor’s proposed legislation, addresses licensure portability across many professions, including LMFTs, and would accomplish most of the objectives of our Access MFTs model bills.
