JMFT Decade in Review: Reducing Disparities

By Publications

The Journal of Marital & Family Therapy’s Decade in Review special issue assesses the efficacy and effectiveness of couple and family therapy by reviewing rigorous studies published over the 10-year period from 2010-2019. In this episode of our video series, journal contributors Dr. Lekie Dwanyen and Dr. Kendal Holtrop (also the journal co-editor) talk about their article, which reviewed couple and family intervention research methods in relation to racially and ethnically diverse populations. Together, they share insights from their research and explain the importance of shedding light on diverse populations. They also discuss what future research in this field needs to do to address these mental health disparities, and advance the overall field of systemic therapy.
