JMFT Decade in Review: Intimate Partner Violence and Child Maltreatment

By Publications

The Journal of Marital & Family Therapy’s Decade in Review special issue assesses the efficacy and effectiveness of couple and family therapy by reviewing rigorous studies published over the 10-year period from 2010-2019. In this episode of our video series, journal contributors Dr. Sandra Stith and Dr. Glade Topham talk about their article, which reviewed systemic interventions to reduce intimate partner violence or child maltreatment. They discuss how each term is defined and the prevalence of each, and also dive into an evaluation of the efficacy and effectiveness of various treatments as well as areas where more research is needed.
