JMFT Decade in Review: Depression and Bipolar Disorders

The Journal of Marital & Family Therapy’s Decade in Review special issue assesses the efficacy and effectiveness of couple and family therapy by reviewing rigorous studies published over the 10-year period from 2010-2019. In this episode of our video series, journal contributors Dr. Andrea K. Wittenborn, Dr. Sarah B. Woods and Dr. Jacob B. Priest talk about their article, which reviewed couple and family interventions for depressive and bipolar disorders. They discuss how depression and bipolar disorders impact the entire family, what treatments from MFTs are effective and what barriers there are that keep people from getting the treatment they need.
